Cupping uses cups that create controlled suction on the skin. Instead of pressing the muscle inwards, as the hand does, the cup draws the tissue outwards: it separates layers of fascia that have stuck together through stress, posture or training, and brings fresh blood to the area. It feels like warmth and release, not pain.
At SOMA cupping is not an isolated treatment: it is part of the Deep Relaxation Massage. Manual work with warm oils prepares the tissue first; the cups then act on the areas that remain loaded, usually the upper back, trapezius and lower back; and the massage closes the session by integrating everything. The muscle releases layer by layer, without forcing.
The cups glide over oiled skin (dynamic cupping) or stay in place for a few minutes on the tightest points (static cupping), depending on what each area needs. Round reddish marks may remain for a few days: they are blood drawn to the surface, not bruises from impact, and they do not hurt.

What is cupping massage for?
To release deep muscle tension, free stuck fascia and improve local circulation. It helps when back and neck load does not give way to a conventional massage.
Does cupping hurt?
No. The suction is adjusted and I always work within your comfort threshold. You feel pulling and warmth, not pain.
Does cupping leave marks?
It can leave reddish or purple circles that fade within days. They are not impact bruises and do not hurt. If you have an event coming up and prefer to avoid them, tell me and the intensity is adjusted.
Can I book cupping alone, without massage?
Cupping is included in the 60-minute Deep Relaxation Massage (€270), because it works best on tissue prepared by manual massage. If you are looking for another combination, ask when booking.
How much does cupping cost in Valencia?
It is included in the Deep Relaxation Massage: €270 for a 60-minute session with manual massage, cupping and warm oils. A €50 deposit confirms the booking.
